Minutes of the Annual Meeting of ICPP Board, EFCPP Board and Directors of Centers of positive Psychotherapy



The meeting was held on 24 of June 2005 from 17.00 – 20.00 at the Thermal Hotel, Felix Spa, Romania.

Presents: 16 representatives of the Centers: Nossrat Peseschkian, Manije Peseschkian, Shrindhar Sharma, Hamid Peseschkian, Arno Remmers, Ivan Kirilov, Claudia Schwamberger, Gabriela Hum, Maxim Goncharov, John Okoro, Jiri Kulka, Hurold Fisiloglu, Vladimir Karikash, Ludmila Zaytseva, Pavel Frolov, Liana Don.

  1. Opening and Welcoming

  1. Appointment of secretary of the meeting: Gabriela Hum.

  1. Approval of the Agenda

  1. a. Report from the ICPP-office

  • In Germany, Wiesbaden, many Master Programs are started

  • It was developed a Curricula for Positive psychotherapy, 5 years and it is a very useful handbook for teaching Positive Psychotherapy

  • Mrs. Peseschkian started to organize an Archive of Positive Psychotherapy

  • German Association of PPT supported a lot the international activities (financial and not only).

  • It was proposed to plus the name Positive Psychotherapy as Positive Psychodynamic Therapy. The decision was not finished

b. Report from the Centers:

  • Czech Republic – Jiri Kulka

    • needs the name Psychodynamic in the name of PPT because in Czech rep PPT is not recognized. Using the name Psychodynamic can help to received an official recognition. Jiri asked for foreigner trainers for PPT.

    • they have since now a group of 16 people during training in PPT

    • they translated already 4 books of prof. Peseschkian

    • they also have articles and papers about PPT

  • Austria – John Okoro

    • in Austria PPT is not recognized yet but they also need the name Psychodynamic in the name of PPT.


    Ukraine – Vladimir Karikash

    • Psychotherapy is recognized only for doctors
    • hey have since now 8 groups of PPT: 80 people finished Basic Course and 18 Master Course
    • hey asked Arno Remmers for some trainings PPT theory
    • hey also need trainers for Master Course
  • Kosovo – Hamid Peseschkian

    • Already organized 3 seminars in PPT and they have 3 trainers of Master Course: Enver Cesko, Afrim Blyta and Jusuf Ulaj
  • Romania – Gabriela Hum

    • there are 6 groups of PPT – 3 of them in the Master Program and 3 in Basic Program (lead by Liana Don and Emese Grosz)
    • They translated the book of prof. Peseschkian: “Stories as tools for psychotherapy: The merchant and the parrot”


    • From 15 of September will start a new group of PPT in Sibiu, lead by Gabriela Hum


    • There are around 50 people waiting for starting PPT in Cluj and Timisoara


  • Bulgaria – Claudia Schwamberger

    • 5 group in different cities are under the training of PPT
    • the Institutes of PPT are in Varna and Sofia


  • Khabarovsk – Maxim Goncharov and Pavel Frolov

    • They developed a privat office where they are working PPT

    • Also they worke on the field of teaching psychotherapy, providing theory in psychotherapy and practical experience


  • Krasnodar – Ludmila Zaytseva

    • They have problems because doctors do not want to work on psychotherapy field


    • They need International Trainers


  • Russia – Ivan Kirillov

    • PPT is in press and in programs of teaching psychotherapy


    • Ivan started Basic Courses in Latvia


    • In Moskow they started a new Institute for PPT and they translate many books of PPT


  • Bolivia – Arno Remmers

    • In Bolivia was developed a book of master Training


    • Arno proposed to send to all the Centers of PPT the handbook, to use it and also to help to improve it


    • They finished since now master Course level


    • They ask for support


  • Turkey – Hurold Fisiloglu

    • There were started courses of PPT by prof. Peseschkian and they have now 2 groups under training


    • They need international trainers of PPT


  • China – Manije Peseschkian

    • In Shanghai they have a new law, people from clinical and educational field can become trainers in PPT


    • Prof. Fuguo Chen is a teacher in PPT in Shanghai


    • They have not enough psychotherapists


    • In Beijing there are 2 professors who teach PPT


    • They work to receive official acceptance


  • India – prof. Sahrma

    • They have 2 courses of PPT in Universities of New Dephi



  • Italy – Manije Peseschkian

    • There are 2 people who will start a group of PPT


    • They already translated a book of prof. Peseschkian


  • Cyprus – Manije Peseschkian


    • There will be started new courses

  1. Next International Traing Seminar and The 4th World Congress of PPT:

  • There were some proposals. In the end the decision was:

    • The Next International Training Seminar: Wiesbaden – 25-28 of August 2006

    • The 4th World Congress of Positive Psychotherapy: Antalya, Turkey - October 2007

    • International Training seminar: Brno, Czech Republic - 2008

  1. Training activities:

  • Hamid and Arno will send the book with the program of Master Course of PPT and it will be send to all the trainers to adjusted and to make suggestions

  • Kosova have a very serious program of MC in PPT. They introduced PPT in every department of Universities, 2 years MA in psychotherapy and 5 years BA

  • It was proposed to have some courses (maybe MC) in English in Wiesbaden, in order to have European Certificates, that means 4 times per year, 2 weeks

  • To have some trainers from outside Germany to lead MC in Wiesbaden for people from coutries which have no NAO or Centers of PPT

  1. Publications

  • It was proposed to publish the presentations of the 6th International training Seminar in a book, with the title: Recent Advanced in PPT

  • In order to publish this volume, please sent to Gabriela HUM (gabriela.hum@positum.ro) all the presentations from the Seminar, in the native language, and if it is possible also in English: dead-line: 31 of July, 2005

  • We discussed also about the book on demand, it is a cheaper version and we can use this to publish the presentations from the seminar

  • We also need people who sustain young researcher regarding subject of research, dissertations, scientific supervision etc. The specialists proposed were:

    • Prof. Sharma (for English speakers)

    • Ivan Kirillov (for Russian speakers)

  1. Organizational issues

  • Maxim will translate the brochure and the leaflet in Russian language

  • Honorary members – let have a list with people who can help us

  • Prof. Peseschkian proposed to introduce something new: to have a story of the day

  • To invite at the conferences and seminars TV and journals
